What is the Alcazar of Seville?

Royal Alcazar of Seville is, without any doubt, one of the most important monuments in the city of Seville. It is made up of a group of palaces and gardens built throughout the entire history of the city and surrounded by a strong wall.

Today it is one of the oldest royal palaces that still in use in Europe and its mix of architectural styles make it a unique place to explore the fascinating history of the city of Seville.

What can you see in the Royal Alcazar of Seville?

As we have already mentioned, the interior of the Alcázar is made up of a set of palaces built throughout the history. Inside the monument we can find an Almohad patio from the 12th century, the Gothic palace built by Alfonso X known as the Wise in the13th century, the spectacular Mudejar palace of Pedro I built in the 14th century or part of the old Casa de Contratación in Seville.

In addition to these magnificent buildings, the interior of the wall includes 7 hectares of gardens that are a real delight and probably one of the most beautiful places in Seville.


The Alcazar of Seville has two different schedules depending on the time of year.

Guided tours

Alcázar of Seville is a complex building and contains a long and rich history that deserves to be discovered by the most restless visitors. For this reason, from Voyager we always recommend those who love history to take a guided tour so as not to miss the most relevant details of its history and architecture.

Voyager offers two types of visits: group and private.

Group tours are cheaper and allow you to tour the palaces with other people.

Private tours, as the name suggests, allow you to tour the monument with an exclusive official guide.

How to get tickets for the Alcazar?

Tickets can be purchased both at the box office and online. There are different prices depending on the type of ticket:

General Ticket: €14.50

Reduced ticket for students and retirees from the EU: €7

Children under 13: €1
